Alcázar de San Juan

Alcázar de San Juan

Alcázar de San Juan is a middle city, perhaps similar to a big village located in the province of Ciudad Real, at 90km from the Ciudad Real city, of course, in the middle of Spain.
Ciudad Real belongs to the community of Castilla La Mancha.

Don Quijiote de la Mancha

One of the most important things to visit in Alcázar de San Juan is the windmills (like the image).
If you know some about the spanish literature, you should know the novel called "Don Quijote De La Mancha" by Miguel de Cervantes. Well, the windmills that the main character of the novel (Don Quijote) confused with giants are the same windmills we can visit in Alcázar de San Juan.
In fact there are some studies that situates Alcázar de San Juan as the place where the author of the novel (Miguel de Cervantes) could born.

Nice Places

One of the best things you cant loose in Alcázar is a bar in the main plaza, called "Plaza de España". In all the south of Spain, when you ask the waiter of a bar to bring you a beer, you receive surely a beer and a "tapa". Is a tradition of all the south of Spain (mainly Andalucía). Well, in Alcázar we are going to get surprised with this tradition too. And perhaps with three or four beers, you and your company can also dinner just with these free "tapas". It depends on your stomach sizes...
